Every four years from 2006 to 2018, an album of 'radio-phonic music' appeared on SevCom, telling the story of a mythical place called Barbara Island. The first album ended with a suicide note, the second arrived in another world by aeroplane, the third became dark with automated radio signals and the last described the arrival of the UFO as long predicted by the Sydney man Alan Philp. None of this was planned. The story and the music simply arrived each four years via birds. For this reason I supply it as you wish to donate.
Over the 12 years the music changed slowly but continued certain feelings and themes and I am happy to bring it all together for the first time as a single major work. An opera if you like. Rather than chop it into individual organs I have left each body intact, but I have placed times where you can place the knife.
Right now these notes are incomplete. I will add more as it comes to me. There is a radio programme which explains it:
supported by 54 fans who also own “The Complete Barbara Islands 2006 - 2018”
I had these albums on the second disk of the Illustrated Family Doctor soundtrack and loved the ripped single file for each server - great ambience. Having them as separate tracks reprepared by Tom is great. Thanks for all the music mate. jeremy keens
