Egg Wizard Some pivotal tunes in my personal development; included is the "Retread" CD remixed by Robert Racic, transforming brilliant dark electropop tunes (Big Car, Greater Reward) into leading edge dancefloor soundscapes; Tom Ellard and Ollie Olsen should be recognised worldwide for enormous sophistication that led the pack. Favorite track: Greater Dub.
Rob Wosley
Rob Wosley thumbnail
Rob Wosley Massive massive dancefloor filler, spooky, nasty, but gorgeous at the same time. A millstone around Tom Ellard's neck, maybe, a behemoth out of control, careering through the decades like a sonic bulldozer. Impossible not to be weirded out by the lyrics but desperate to dance to it at the same time. Favorite track: Dead Eyes Opened 94 Reopened.

neur0dancer 1983 classic turned into more. You can't go wrong with this release Favorite track: Dead Eyes Opened 94 Love Experiment (Paul Mac).
Morts

Morts An absolute classic! Easily Tom Ellard's most commercially successful moment. A cult favourite from Aussie underground industrial masters got revamped for the '90s with a dancier mix actually improving (in my opinion) on the 1983 original, unexpectedly enough. One to lend an ear to!

Highest Chart position 12. Appeared on a K-Tel compilation, which is the best thing about it. Has been repeatedly scrutinized by feminist thinkers for inadvertent sexism and been approved as representing an empowerment of the woman through the legal process.

++

Retread and Twister were 12 inch singles released by the Volition label in the 'dance party' times. Remixed and in some cases recorded by Robert Racic, they're pretty much four-on-the-floor concoctions that were quite popular.

On the EP versions came remixes by other groups - Itch-E & Scratch-E, Gridlock & 400 Blows.

It's wonderful to be liked (believe me it's better than the opposite), but even at the time I didn't feel that they had much to do with the band.
